Information about Surgery
If you are scheduled to have surgery with one of our doctors (not including a scheduled cesarean section) you will receive an information packet in the mail from our Surgery Scheduler. This information is important as it contains appointment dates we have made for you, your surgery date and phone numbers for you to call.
What appointments will I need to have?
You will have a series of appointments before and after your surgery:
- Some patients will be required to have a pre-admission testing appointment at Highland Hospital (laboratory tests). The mailing from our office will indicate whether you need to have this appointment.
- A pre-operative visit with your OB/Gyn in one of our offices. Your doctor will perform a heart and lung check, you will have the opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns about your surgery and you will sign your surgery consent forms.
- A post-operative appointment with your OB/Gyn in one of our offices.
Are there forms to complete?
Enclosed in the mailing from our office, you will find your pre-admission forms. Please read these forms completely, fill them out, and return them to Highland Hospital on the day of your pre-admission testing appointment. If you have any questions regarding any of these materials, please contact the hospital directly (585-341-6707). Highland Hospital also asks that you bring a list of all medications you are currently taking (a form to record this information is included in the informational packet we will mail you).
If you have misplaced any of your forms, you may download them here:
What time do I need to arrive at the hospital?
The day before your surgery, please call Highland Hospital at 585-341-6707 between 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM to find out what time you need to arrive at the hospital. If your surgery is scheduled for a Monday, you must call the hospital the Friday before.
